Field Civil Engineer Structural Job Description
A Field Civil Engineer specific to structural work is required to work for a global leading construction company performing a Project Management Services role on behalf of the client on one of the largest civils projects in the world at present.
The project is to expand the industrial city of Jubail in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This will include the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants as well as a newly built industrial rail network.
Field Civil Engineer Duties
As the Field Civil Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure contractors quality of work in the field
- Be fully responsible for the quantities of the contract
- Review contractors technical submittals and verifiy the compliance upon material delivery on site
- Review contractors proposed designs and shop drawings
- Review and verify contractors monthly invoices
- Conduct reviews on design packages at different stages of the process
- Lead the documentation, for example O&M manuals, built drawings, punch list and final quantity at initial acceptance
- Provide technical support in the preparation of Field Change
- Request and Change Orders
Field Civil Engineer Structural Experience Required
A Degree in civil engineering or very similar equivalent is essential
Significant field construction supervision experience
Previous work experience in the areas of Industrial and residential site developments, reinforced concrete construction related to heavy industrial / civil structures such as post tension bridges, highways, underground utilities and flexible pavement
Hands on experience in calculating quantities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Auto CAD and Excel is important
