Senior Estimator Job Description
A leading UK based contractor operating in Qatar requires a senior estimator with previous Middle Eastern experience to join their estimating team. The position has arisen due to the pending retirement of their chief estimator this year.
Your role will be to work as second in command reporting to the Managing Estimator on a range of new projects. The company currently have some of the most exciting and large projects in the country, often valuing in excess of £100m. Their project portfolio is diverse, ranging from large mixed use developments, petro chem, and civils based developments. This position offers excellent natural career progression to Managing Estimator within 1 – 2 years depending on performance.
Senior Estimator Duties
The successful candidate’s duties will include the following:
Reporting to Chief / Managing Estimator
Step in for Chief / Managing Estimator when needed
Organising and planning of tender workload
Producing cost estimates for resources
Assessment of cost factors and possible impacts on tender costs
Work on Multiple projects
You will be expected to carry out further duties as and when necessary to ensure smooth running of the business
Senior Estimator Experience Required
The ideal candidate will be:
Degree qualified or recognised similar equivalent
Will have some previous international experience, preferably in the Middle East
Chartered status would be beneficial
Previously worked for global contractor on large scale projects
A variety of good quality experience on a range of large scale projects
