A specialized Steel contracting company requires a Commercial Manager for their operations in the Middle-East.
Reporting directly to Senior Management, the successful candidate will be based the United Arab Emirates and will have overall responsibilities for the commercial function of a rapidly growing SME. Amongst other duties, the Commercial Manager is responsible for the commercial overview of the business portfolio of projects executed under a contract from early stages of tender preparation, through handover to Contracts Department and the final completion and handover to the client. The role will require regular meetings with clients and you must be commercially astute with an eye for detail. The commercial manager will be able to talk knowledgeably with clients about technical aspects of specific projects. Other responsibilities will include ensuring all documents, client requests and variations are submitted to the highest quality and in a timely manner.
The ideal applicant will be educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and have a minimum 5 years post qualification experience with a M & E contractor. To be considered you should be commercially astute and with an eye for detail. Candidates will preferably already have at least 3 years experience at a senior level with commercial responsibility for a number of projects although applicants with lesser experience but the drive and ambition to step up to the next level are also encouraged to apply. Considerable experience in reviewing / drafting tenders and contracts is required. Previous experience in the Middle-East preferred but any overseas experience / willing to relocate will be considered
