M & E Project Quantity Surveyor Saudi Arabia
We are currently sourcing CVs for a Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor based in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. This vacancy is available within one of the worlds leading providers of integrated mechanical and electrical building services. The client is an international M&E engineering group with international offices and a project portfolio spanning over 35 countries providing single and multi-service solutions to a broad network of businesses.
Due to a recent commission of a large-scale commercial headquarters project for a renowned financial institution in Riyadh, the client is urgently seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take on a Project QS role to oversee the construction phase of this project. The design is environmentally friendly and follows strict sustainable energy guidelines as well as the FIDIC type of contract conditions.
This is a contract role for the remnant of the project ( 12 16 months) with immediate start date. The M & E Project Quantity Surveyor will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for a small team of Quantity Surveyors . The PQS will be in direct liaison with the client, design, project management and construction teams . Further duties will include:
Provision of commercial and contractual services to ensure commercial targets are achieved
Attend commercial / contractual meetings with the Client's Representatives, Main Contractor, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers
Provision of contractual correspondence including notices
Ensure that contractual obligations are properly executed by the company on the project
Advise on commercial risks within the project
Assist the commercial manager with the preparation of monthly contract review reports
Identify changes / variations, measure, submit and agree costs with Main Contractor / QS
Assist with commercial roles across the company in conjunction with other site based surveyors
Assist with start-up and validation meetings with the project team
Preparation of progress valuations through to final account.
Preparation of project commercial forecasts, cashflow etc.
Manage Subcontractor accounts including tendering, tender analysis, negotiation, formulation and execution of subcontracts documents, payments, final accounts etc.
Preparation / formulation of contractual claims, extension of time claims and negotiation to a successful conclusion
Assist with maintaining records of commercial and contractual issues to ensure targets are being met.
Provide contractual and commercial support to Estimating and Procurement departments
The ideal candidate will possess ALL of the following selection criteria:
Degree qualified (Quantity Surveying) and have previous experience at a project quantity surveyor level on high-rise commercial building projects
Be computer literate and have good written, reporting, presentation and verbal communication skills
Have knowledge of the various forms on contract with specific knowledge of FIDIC contracts
Contribute to the team and be a team player
Work collaboratively as part of a team

This role is a guaranteed 12-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent and offers the following remuneration package:
- Salary basic of 50K+ per annum tax free
- Fully expensed and serviced accommodation, transport
- Typically 16 weeks on / 2 weeks off with return flights paid for

- Local living allowance
