Quantity Surveyor Job Description

A highly reputable main contractor requires a Quantity Surveyor at an intermediate level to join their North Eastern commercial team due to the ongoing growth of the company in that region.
This position is to be predominantly based in the South Tyneside area and you will be working on new build and refurbishment contracts up to £5M with the client being a government department.


Quantity Surveyor Duties

The successful Quantity Surveyor's duties will include;

- Financial & commercial control of the project
- Eliminate risk
- Produce accurate real-time reports
- Achieve project targets whilst maintaining client and supply chain relationships
- Prevent disputes by dealing with difficult issues early and presenting resolutions to problems that may arise
- Estimating and tendering


Quantity Surveyor Qualifications and Experience Required

- BSc (Hons) or similar recognised equivalent in Quantity Surveying is desired, however lower qualification will be accepted for the right experience.
- MRICS or MCIOB membership or working towards these is an advantage
- A main contracting background on medium to large building projects is desired.
- Relevant experience to carry out the duties above
